RSC18 - Greens

I made some progress on the Hourglass quilt.  This week was the batch of 45 scrappy green units.  I also added 4 new purple blocks for the 20 Triangles quilt started last year.   I have 3 new purple blocks to make for that project today.  The top batch of purple hourglass blocks were shared last week.

So this is my design wall today .....................

Pretty soon I will need to use EQ to figure out exactly how many units of each color family I will need.  I know I have a long way to go.

RSC18 - Purples

I am a tad behind with the challenge.  I spent today trimming up 2 small scrap drawers;  then I set about cutting hourglass units from purple scraps.  I also cut some for the Hidden Gems project started last year.

Today I did sew up 26 purple hourglass units.  I wish I had a specific color and/or layout plan, then I would know how much I really need.... for now they will be gathered together waiting these decisions.

So this is progress.  I have a stockpile of greens and white quarter square triangle units waiting to assemble for March's challenge.

I'm linking up with Angela of Soscrappy today  and  with Cynthia for Oh Scrap on Sunday.  Be sure to visit these sites to see what other quilters are sharing today.

Mary's Strippie 18-1

This project was cut into a kit last December.  Actually, I cut 4 kits.  It's hard to stop when you're on a cutting roll.   This year I have been practicing FMQ and these kits are serving as a great canvas for my practice.  The strips are prints and my   'not perfect'   FMQ is not screaming visible.

Making these child size, about 50 x 60.   I cut extra strips and put them on the 2 sides to make the pattern wider.  You can find Mary's free pattern  here :

and  here is my finish.............  I used a border stripe.  I was very careful trimming the ends so the stripe would line up throughout the quilt.

Here is the back, a gray and yellow printed fleece.  I used cotton batting.
